Carbon reduction: projected vs actual
In order to continue our progress towards net zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets. We project that carbon emissions will decrease to 0.5483 tCO2e by 2045 — a reduction of 90%.

Carbon reduction projects
The following environmental management measures and projects are currently in progress or have been completed since the 2025 baseline.
Increase recycling rates and reduce waste sent to landfill
Target completion date: 31/12/2027
- Objective
- To improve waste management performance by increasing recycling and ensuring waste is diverted from landfill wherever possible.
- Target
- Increase the proportion of waste recycled and work with the waste management provider to maximise recovery and diversion from landfill.
- Action, improvement or control
- Engage with the waste management provider to understand waste treatment routes and identify opportunities to increase recycling and recovery rates. Request regular information on waste disposal outcomes and encourage measures that minimise waste sent to landfill.
Expand carbon data collection in preparation for evolving reporting requirements
Target completion date: 31/12/2027
- Objective
- To establish global emissions data collection processes that support readiness for expanded carbon reporting requirements, including PPN 006 and NHS expectations.
- Target
- Improve the completeness and quality of global Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions data across the organisation and its supply chain.
- Action, improvement or control
- Establish processes for collecting global Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions data, identifying gaps in current information and engaging suppliers and stakeholders to improve data availability in preparation for future reporting requirements.
Electricity — lighting and general use
Target completion date: 31/12/2027
- Objective
- To reduce the amount of energy used by the organisation in relation to lighting and general office use.
- Target
- To reduce the amount of electricity used.
- Action, improvement or control
- Posters reminding staff to turn off lights, computers and other electrical items. Timers on lights in bathrooms and other appropriate spaces. Change all lighting to energy saving alternatives. Replace high energy rated appliances with lower energy rated versions. Motion sensors for lighting in hallways and other appropriate areas.
Declaration and sign off
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 006 and the associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.
Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard, and use the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting.
Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors.
